Bus Transfer

For 2026, we will once again be offering bus transfers to and from Lorne.

Add Bus Transfers to Your Registration

In the registration portal, there is an Add-On section where you can select a bus transfer (this works the same as adding an extra ticket to your registration).

  • Price: AUD 70.00 each way (General) / AUD 35.00 each way (Student)

  • You may log back into your dashboard at any time to add, change, or remove this option.

  • Seats must be reserved in advance.

Mantra Lorne (1:30pm) ➡ Melbourne Airport (3:30pm) ➡ WEHI (4:00pm)

Important

  • Please ensure you have checked out of your hotel and wait within the Mantra Lorne Foyer at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
  • Please allow for 2.5 hours to travel from Lorne for flight bookings.

Make Your Own Way There

Car Rental

Melbourne Airport has six car rental companies located on site. All have offices on the ground floor of the short term car park, and information desks in the Melbourne Airport domestic terminals. Please visit here for further information.

Train

1) Once arriving into Melbourne Airport, take the Skybus to Southern Cross Station. The Skybus departs from Melbourne Airport every 10 minutes and takes approximate 30 minutes.

2) From Southern Cross Station, take a VLine train to Geelong. Visit here for timetable and ticket information.

3) From Geelong Railway Station, take VLine Coach to Lorne Visitor Centre/Great Ocean Rd. The bus will stop outside the Mantra Lorne. Please visit here for timetable information.

Taxi

Taxis and rideshares are another option from Melbourne Airport to Lorne. This is an expensive option with an approximate cost of $300. There is a taxi and rideshare rank outside Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

Bus

  1. Gull Airport Service provides a bus from Melbourne Airport to Geelong with regular bus services. For timetable information please visit here. Pick up information from Melbourne Airport can be found here.

  2. The service stops at Geelong Railway Station. From Geelong Railway Station, take VLine Coach to Lorne on the Warrnambool - Melbourne via Apollo Bay & Geelong line
